Has anyone else done TBI to Carb conversion? I think your best bet is remove all the emissions junk if you haven't already. Get yourself a good set of headers, an Edelbrock Performer intake, and Edelbrock 600 cfm carb. w/electric choke. You can get the Mopar Performances electronic igniton kit and totally remove ECM and all it's wiring.What is the average mileage comparison with tbi to carb generaly speaking as I posted I get about 12-15 mpg. Pay real close attention to the geometry of the linkage and get the proper brackets and make sure you have the right cable and that it is adjusted correctly. You can smoke a 700 just by swapping carbs. To make the conversion you will need a carb, intake, distributor, ignition module, ballast, external voltage regulator, fuel pressure regulator/or mechanical fuel pump, throttle cable, TV cable, and plenty of electrical tape. Like sls001 said check out the post and think real hard on it. Personally if your system works keep it.Grab a carb with an air cleaner/breather assembly. Exhaust manifolds or V6 headers will work. You may need to leave some sensors in the holes to prevent coolant/oil leaks. The 4.3 is a 350 minus 2 cylinders, so a 500cfm carb is more than enough, just match it up to your intake.Don't get me wrong, TBI is great for your bone stock 305, but for any kind of modified SBC or BBC swap.
