The first purchase, a Marlin Model 783, went for $220 out the door. It included a 3-9x40 Simmons scope and a hardcase. The gun was in almost perfect condition, with no marks on the woodwork and only ONE small surface rust spot on the barrel. The second gun, purchased earlier today, is a Marlin Model 25MN that went for $165.One being a Marlin 783. Gun has been thoroughly cleaned. Not every time but occasionally, the rifle will fire when closing the bolt. Very dangerous. I wondered if the striker cam pin might be worn or not properly inserted.
