I will re-set it with the Joe Reeves Method tomorrow to 30 degrees, that is, the Joe Reeves Method but minus 0 degrees. When the lever is in neutral and the throttle mechanism is not pulled tight against the idle screw. You need to adjust the cable on the motor. You are only concerned about the lower screw at idle. The upper screw is only the WOT stop for the carbs. Your idle should be about 1000-1200 rpm on muffs.

Put a timing light on #1, and place the timing linkage in idle position. Crank the engine, and note the reading. Should be around 4*ATDC. While the engine is cranking, move the linkage manually, watching the timing move using the timing light. It will move on the flywheel toward that 18* mark.

The bolt at the high speed end goes though a hole so that end cannot really be adjusted.
