Feb 25, 2024 · Posted February 25. Cleaning up the head for the 450 notice a small crack coming off the oval water jacket between 3 and 4. The coolant was coming down cylinder three. There is actually a similar one between 1 and 2 but smaller. I took a couple of pictures, not sure how great they will be. Most likely, the original head was an 8060 head. Some Sm's and MTA's had 8574 heads. Both heads will give you a smooth running tractor giving you 45 hp. Stay away from the 8704 head which is the distillate head.
