I am using both, depends on armor I want to use. Mod Organizer helps to switch UNP to CBBE and vice versa very easily. From observation UNP has more body armors. Most of time using CBBE due Kasandra and Sorceress armors - looks better with CBBE.CBBE is a body Replacer for female characters. In skyrim, cbbe Curvy might be a taaaaad too overkill but it's better than some other ones. I've used UNP correctly (wanna add this before someone assumes I had a mod conflict, I did not) and it just had too many issues.

Cbbe is much better overall, u can just adjust the body using bodyslide to get the SIZE u want and has a lot of armor mods with hdt support, but if others insist go for bhunp. A UV map is how the texture lines up on a mesh. If you put an UNP-compatible texture on a CBBE mesh, the texture wont line up - you'll get nipples and bellybuttons, all over the place and gaps at the hip, as you've already noticed.
