Hodgdon Titewad leakage during reloading. I am loading one ounce, 7.5 shot loads in 12 gauge using Hodgdon Titewad (Remington Gun Clubs, Claybuster 1100-12 wads and Winchester W209 primers), and have experienced some leakage of this fine powder as I move the powder/shot bar back and forth. A flake or two seem to float out everytime I move the bar.The very best subsonic 223 load for any of these rifles is a .22 conversion using a 1-9 twist barrel and 60gr SSS ammo from Aguila. Published load data shows Titewad has to work hard to get any decent velocity before pressure approaches the limit. It may be ok for light loads but I prefer to be able to get 1200 FPS without crowding the ceiling.

But if you are very concerned about migration past the wad and don't trust my earlier statement, stick to a flake powder. Your option is to load some up with, say, 17.5 gr and the SP12, and send them in for testing and see what you get.

Anyone have any experience or thoughts on reloading shotshells with Alliant E3 or Titegroup? (not Titewad) I found the following recommendation: "I just reloaded and shot 100 rounds of 1 1/8 oz, 1200 fps shells using Hodgdon Titegroup.
